SHADOWS FROM THE FIRE

"Shhh!  Chad tried not to breathe hoping it would silence the pounding in his ears.  He thought he heard something and strained to hear it again.  Nothing.  Chad called out, "Is anyone here?" then listened again intently.  "Help, help us!", he heard faintly above the roar of the fire which seemed ever closer....

a vagabond life

In 1926, Alice meets Henry at a party and is immediately connected. After some tumultuous moments, they marry and start their life as The Great Depression is tightening it's grip on America. The unconventional lifestyle of moving from one construction job to another takes some serious adjustments on Alice's part, especially after the children start coming.  The torment of frequently being apart, uncertainty of disease, and heartache of tragedy take their toll.

Theresa grew up in a rural setting in Southwest Michigan with good parents and not much drama until her teen years. The milk crate of tablets full of stories were written before she was twelve.  She excelled in school and went on to college.  Theresa earned her bachelor’s degree in Advertising Design at Kendall College of Art and Design, which is now a school within Ferris State University.  Her minors were Broadcast Design, Interior Design, and Business Management.

Theresa’s first job after college was in folding carton design where she did well and was very happy with her career choice.  Then life happened and she changed jobs a few more times through the coming years.

Theresa began attending a newly formed writer’s group at a local library in 2008, where she found inspiration and a mentor. She published her first novel in 2011. When her husband past away later that year, she retreated, with her dog, to her former home and eaked out an existence, but all the while she kept writing.  Another novel was published in 2012, and by 2015, she had three novels and three how-to books in print, plus a family history.  She aspires to continue writing no matter where life takes her.
